How soon after my child turns 2.5 can they start at Dicker House?
Generally it would be at the closest half term or at the start of term but we can be flexible on this if we have spaces
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, cheque, BACS payment or government funding schemes
Do you accept childcare vouchers
Yes, we also accept government Tax Free Childcare scheme payments
How do you invoice?
Half termly in advance. a Term is usually six or seven weeks
Are there any additional costs?
We may ask parents for a donation every half term towards fruit and cookery activities.
Does my child have to wear uniform?
Dicker House uniform is available, however uniform and purchasing uniform are entirely optional
Do you accept children with SENCO needs?
Yes, we are an inclusion setting. Please see our Local Offer statement for further details.
What happens if I'm late picking up my child?
We would appreciate a telephone call in these circumstances, so that staff are made away of any problems. For persistent late collection a fee may be charged as staff would need to remain on the premises to take care of your child.
Is there a breakfast / lunch / after school club?
We are open for six hours a day, so a lunch club is included in the daily routine for children who stay beyond 12PM. A lunch club can be added as an additional cost or as part of your entitlement if you so wish. We do not currently offer a breakfast club or after-school club for our children.
Do you accept 30 hours Government funded childcare?
Yes, we try to ensure that all eligible children can access their 15 hours of Free entitlement and subject to availability we do offer the extended 15 hours of childcare as well
What is the adult to child ratio?
1:4 for under threes, and 1:8 for three and above. However the preschool normally try to have an over ratio compliment of staff
Is Dicker House open on Birchwood Grove School inset days?
No, we are not allowed children on site during school inset days.
Will my child automatically get a place at Birchwood Grove School if they attend Dicker House?
No, we are an independent, charity run pre-school. Primary school admission should be made through standard process
